Daily Independent features Paaneah's work with young people

In an interview with Daily Independent, our Programme Manager, Oluwasola Elisha, described our free JAMB tutorials, character development programme and skills training, and the challenges of serving young people in Olosun, Ota.

Young people learning in the Paaneah Foundation hall

Paaneah Foundation was featured in Daily Independent in an interview with our Programme Manager, Oluwasola Elisha.

"We help young people become better academically, socially and in other areas of life."

Who we serve

The interview explained that Paaneah focuses on three groups of adolescents:

  • In-school adolescents
  • Adolescents in between institutions
  • Adolescents who have dropped out or are out of school

What we do

  • Free JAMB tutorials. Our training centre gives lectures to help young people pass the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examination. It serves those who cannot afford fee-paying tutorial centres, and it has a mini library for study.
  • Character development. A programme that moulds young people's character so they become better citizens.
  • Skills acquisition. Our 2023 empowerment programme trained participants in baking, tailoring and ICT, introduced them to STEM, and taught them how to lead productive, active lives.

The challenges we face

Olosun, Ota does not have an adequate power supply, so the foundation relies on generators, and the rising cost of petrol has become a heavy burden. Poor roads also make the centre hard to reach for some young people.

These are exactly the areas where support makes the biggest difference. If you can help, please donate or partner with us.
